U.S. Open returns to Pinehurst No. 2

This Father’s Day weekend is shaping up to be an awesome weekend for watching sports. We have the start of the World Cup, the Stanley Cup Finals, the NBA Finals and of course the U.S. Open golf tournament. The 2014 U.S. Open will mark the return of the legendary Pinehurst No. 2. Originally designed by Donald Ross, this course is known for its paradoxical greens that will sternly test the best players in the world. I am particularly fond of this course, because strategy and deft touches are more important here than power. Pinehurst has undergone significant changes in the last few years, mostly in the removal of the fairway roughs. It will be interesting to see how these changes will affect the players’ strategies.
