Open Forum: Most Admired World Leader

There is an old adage that states, “A great man can save a dozen lives; a great leader can save a million lives.” Indeed, leaders are rare and necessary. One could argue that it is better to have a bad leader than to not have a leader at all; anarchy would ensue otherwise.

With this in mind, which world leader(s) past and present do you most admire? Explain why.

Open Forum: Heroes and Superheroes

When I was young, I spent a lot of time reading and collecting superhero comics. Even now, I am still a big comics fan. Strangely, I find myself more attached to the super villians as I age. I guess adulthood has a way of cajoling people to the dark side. Isn’t it strange that most adults prefer Darth Vader over Luke Skywalker? This begs the following questions:

If you can be any superhero/super villain, which one would it be and why? Who is your real-life hero?

Open Forum: National Flags

I am a big fan of the Olympics. My favorite part of the Olympics is the parade of nations–a showcase of all the countries in the world, their national flags, and the best athletes on earth. One can learn so much about a country’s history and culture just by observing its national flag. A national flag can help inspire a nation; it is the greatest of treasures. This begs the following question:

Which country has the best national flag, asthetically and symbolically? Explain why.
