Wifi Scrapers

No one in my house is using the Internet, but my DSL modem is indicating activities. What could it be? Some unauthorized people are using my Wifi. I am usually very lenient on these matters, and would leave my router on without a password for people who really needed to use. However, it has become a target for abuse. I am suspecting the culprits are smartphone users, who are too cheap to use 3G. Oh well, I will be shutting off my wifi, so you will have to target another house.

Americans love cute canines

Who would have thought that one of the most watched sporting events in America is a conformation show, where the best dog breeds compete for the ultimate prize? NBC has so much regards for the annual National Dog Show that the competition has been given a prime TV spot (right after its coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade). Despite the fact this show is tape delayed, Americans still happily watch it on TV bringing big ratings to the network. The actual competition is held at least a week or more prior to its air date, meaning some may have already known the results. (Check out National Dog Show TV Schedule.) As many people consider their canines part of their families, I guess the popularity of the conformation show is not a surprise. Thanksgiving Day is family day after all!

2013 New York City Marathon is tomorrow!

Last year’s New York City Marathon was cancelled after Hurricane Sandy devastated New York City and New Jersey. It was a divided decision because many people were hoping to use the marathon as a rallying point for the recovery effort. However, the marathon is returning this year with a vengeance. Anticipation level is high and tens of thousands of people from around the world are expected to participate in the race. Unfortunately, there is also a sense of anxiety. This race came on the heel of the Boston Marathon bombings in April. After seeing the huge amount of attention received by the two terrorist brothers, their “comrades” as well as domestic anarchists may attempt a similar act, in hope of getting the same amount of worldwide attention.

Obviously, we should never be deterred by these threats. However, we still need to maintain our vigilance. If you could not make it to the race, here is the 2013 New York City Marathon TV & Live Stream Schedule. Enjoy and happy running!
