China is engulfed by smog

October 22, 2013 § Leave a comment

When a major Chinese city had to shut down for days due to dangerous levels of smog, you know the country has some serious issues. And no, this was not due to a wild fire or a weather disaster. It was due to increased industrial activities, which caused an alarming level of pollution. I guess that’s the cost of having to provide employment for hundreds of millions of people. But if the country has to face many more of these “off” days in the future due to smog, what type of future will await the next generation of Chinese? I fear for the young Chinese people who will inherit this terrible legacy.
