Misogynist

While I was doing some research on ancient women warriors, I stumbled across a rather unflattering description of a warrior queen, written by a contemporary historian.
“The warrior queen has a breast of 6 feet long which she wraps around her neck as she battles her foes.”
This historian must definitely be a misogynist. He couldn’t stand the fact that his male comrades were defeated by a female, so he painted the queen as either an abnormal being or some sort of a monster. I am a man, but I don’t find it funny.
One of the queen’s famous quotes:
“My wish is to ride the tempest, tame the waves, and kill the sharks. I will not resign myself to the usual lot of women who bow their heads and become concubines.”

Uninsured debts
January 22, 2010 § 6 Comments
The Obama administration and the U.S. congress plan to increase the national debt limit by $1.9 trillion, or $1900 billion, or $1900000 million. The current debt limit is at $12.4 trillion; the U.S. national debt total is at $12 trillion. I know unprecedented time requires unprecedented action, but I do hope they know what they are doing. Solving a crisis by aggravating the crisis seems a bit risky.

Something to ponder

If it is true love, don’t let any moment slipping by. If it is just pity or obligation, no moment is worth living.

Dreams and Earthquakes
January 17, 2010 § 13 Comments
This started about 2 weeks ago. I dreamed about an earthquake. The next day, my home city (in Southern California) experienced a 4.0 earthquake. Two days after this, I dreamed about an earthquake once again; there was a 6.5 earthquake in Northern California the following day. Last Monday, I had the same dream again and the Haiti earthquake happened the next day. My next two dreams also coincided with two other notable earthquakes. This may just be a big coincidence, but it’s a pretty strange one. I bet psychologists will tell me otherwise.
