Lent 2013

In life, we are often distracted by many things — stress, vices and personal transgressions. Once a while, a person will need a period of self-reflection to recharge her body and mind. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and even atheists all set aside a week or two in a year to do just that. For Christians, Lent is that occasion. During this time, observers conduct personal reflections, perform charitable deeds and exercise penance. The observance period typically lasts for 40 days and ends just prior to Good Friday, when Christians observe the death of the Redeemer — Jesus Christ. As a Christian, I will make good use of Lent to improve myself as a person in preparation of Easter and the rest of the year.
As usual, I have prepared a Lent trivia quiz for your knowledge enrichment. I invite all of you (Christians and non-Christians) to give it a try. Happy Lent 2013!
