Rio deserves this victory. The US will definitely get another chance, but this is Brazil’s time to shine.

  1. If Chicago was the only choice then I’m glad it went to Rio. The US will have other chances, that’s true. Chicago’s not the place for it to happen though.

  2. Well, I’m glad and I sincerely hope this project will be managed with honesty.

  3. Rio was a great choice….lots of work to do their though….they have the highest level of violent crime…its not beyond that this could be withdrawn…..rio has a plan to spend an ungodly amount to prepare…..I think chicago would have been an ok place.. SA deserves a chance to showcase its true beauty…zman sends

  4. hallo!! Back here again! Oh I didn’t know it’s the first Olympics in South America. To me, South America countries have many exotic beach resorts (n expensive too!), interesting cultures and many beauties! :D

  5. The South Americans deserve it for sure. However, concerns remain. In an attempt to control violent crime in the favelas, some Brazilians feel that the corrupt and ruthless police may unleash a reign of terror and indulge in extra-judicial killings :-(
