I once had a very romantic boyfriend whom I had forbidden to use the "L" word in regard to our relationship. The next time he sent me roses, they were a gorgeous hybrid that was almost entirely yellow (friendship) but with deep red edges (just a touch of the romantic, unspoken "L," as he explained later).
