Valentine’s Day is the day on which lovers everywhere express their love to each other. One of the ways the man in the relationship can express his love for the woman of his life is to give her candy and flowers as tokens of his love. This day is observed in most Western countries.
The Japanese and Koreans have recently begun celebrating Valentine’s Day, but not without an interesting twist. It is the woman who is supposed to give her man flowers and candy, and not the other way around. I wonder what the men plan to do with the flowers. Give them back to the women, perhaps. I’m sure the men would keep the candy for themselves though.

Really I’ve always found the entire practice of flowers and candy a little ridiculous. Sure, it’s kind of sweet, but it’s too generic for my taste. Give me an idiot singing off-key from the hood of his car accompanied by an 8-track over some chocolates I’ll never eat any day.

I just love the flowers and chocolates! Just call me a hopeless romantic!

Thank you! I believe this is something I really need to engrave in my heart and my head. The truth of it is beyond my imagining. I have struggled so with both the concept and reality of “love.” Then here is these few words I feel an answer beginning to form.
Again thank you,

I perceive Valentine’s Day as another instrument of capitalism.
Man, I’m bitter at times

I must respectfully say here that when this quote applies to oneself, one is with the WRONG partner!
